From Nairobi to the Coast – Seamless Travel and Service
After our unforgettable safari in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, we returned to Nairobi via a short charter flight to Wilson Airport. From there, we boarded a comfortable flight by Jambo Jet to Ukunda Airport, the gateway to the coastal paradise of Diani Beach.
Both the ALS planes at Wilson and the Jambo Jet experience at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport stood out for their excellent customer service, setting the tone for a smooth transition from bush to beach.

For almost a decade, Diani Beach has consistently featured among Africa’s top sandy beaches — a recognition of its powder-white sand, turquoise Indian Ocean waters, and lush tropical backdrop. The beach’s long stretch of sheltered bay, gentle waves, and vibrant coral reefs just offshore make it uniquely suited for sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and leisure: ideal for families, couples and adventure-seekers alike.
On arrival, it’s clear why Diani holds its title: the beach front is pristine, the palm-fringed shoreline inviting, and the service at its resorts exemplary.
Arrival at Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort
We transferred by van from Ukunda Airport to the expansive 54-acre grounds of Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort. Upon check-in, we enjoyed afternoon tea as our rooms were prepared — a relaxing start as playful monkeys roamed the grounds, greeting hotel guests with curiosity. One memorable moment: a cheeky monkey made off with a colleague’s cake, prompting laughter and quick recovery by the staff.
As the sun dipped, we walked the beach, soaked in the resort’s lush gardens and seaside ambience.
Day 2: Beach Life, Luxury Hotels & Kenya’s Open Invitation to Tourism
On our second day, we explored the beach in more detail, swimming, relaxing in beach-lounge seats, and soaking in the Indian Ocean atmosphere. We also visited several state-of-the-art hotels along the Diani strip, underscoring Kenya’s capacity to host large numbers of tourists – in fact, Kenya is always open for tourism, and the coastal region’s infrastructure reinforces this message.
From deluxe resorts to boutique beach-houses, the hospitality offering is diverse and high-calibre.
A Perfect Stay at Diamonds – Review Highlight
Our time at Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort was exceptional. With over three infinity-pools, beachfront access, live-music bands, acrobat-night entertainment and an all-round excellent customer service team — including the approachable resort owners and attentive General Manager — the experience felt both rare and deeply satisfying.
The food was varied, fresh and creatively served; the staff friendly and proactive; the setting elegant but relaxed.
If I were rating it: “A five-star beachfront haven where luxury meets coastal charm — highly recommended.”
Final Day Adventure: Dolphins and Snorkelling at Wasini Island
At dawn (5 a.m.), our group set off on a one-hour drive to Wasini Island. There, aboard a dhow, we sailed for an hour to the renowned Kisite‑Mpunguti Marine Park — home to pods of wild dolphins.
We were fortunate: the dolphins swam alongside our boat, joined us in leaps and dives, and created a moment of pure joy and wonder. Afterwards, we donned snorkels and entered the clear water to explore the marine ecosystem: colourful fish, coral formations and the gentle underwater world of the coast.
After this magical encounter, we sailed back and then hurried to catch our 1 p.m. Jambo Jet flight back to Nairobi — bidding farewell to Diani with hearts full of great memories.
