As a recent alumnus of Taita Taveta University Class of 2023; graduating in November 2023 with Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Information Technology (BBIT), I share in the excitement of this momentous occasion with the Class of 2024. It’s a remarkable achievement to see students who began their academic journeys in 2019 and 2020 graduating simultaneously in 2024; it’s a peculiar twist of fate, Absurdly “Kutangulia si kufika”.
While it might feel like a prolonged journey, remember that every step along the way has shaped you into the exceptional individuals you are today. My journey at TTU was marked by the familiar camaraderie of student hardship, but it was ultimately sweetened by exceptional lecturers, well-structured examinations, and the serene beauty of the Tsavo wildlife. The unforgettable monkey greetings became a daily soundtrack to our academic pursuits.
Enriched by my active involvement in the Catholic Students Association; St Augustine Catholic Chaplaincy of Taita Taveta University (SACCTTU), where I served as both Communications Director and SCC Chairperson for five years. These experiences cultivated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills that have been invaluable in my professional life.
Leaving the familiar grounds of TTU can be both exciting and daunting. The friendships forged, the knowledge acquired, and the experiences shared will undoubtedly shape your future. As you step into the professional world, remember that the foundation laid here is the bedrock for your success. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and always stay true to your values.
