Remarks by H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL)

It is deeply concerning that, in our globalized era, 263 million children aged 6-17 are out of school, 517 million lack basic education skills, and a projection indicates that 15 million girls globally will have no educational opportunities at all. These statistics are according to the United Nations.

The Muslim World League (MWL) therefore calls for a focus on the parallelism between knowledge and values. The MWL supports the use of knowledge for the betterment of global societies and opposes its misuse for evil purposes such as terrorism and extremism.

H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa also emphasized the need for efficient educational solutions to eradicate poverty and the importance of quality family planning strategies.
