High-Level Youth Conference Focuses on Breaking Barriers for a Sustainable Future
A vibrant conference held on Thursday,15th August 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya's UNEP,Gigiri HQ co-hosted by the Oslo Center and Muslim World League (WML) brought together prominent figures and passionate young leaders to discuss "Breaking Barriers: Amplifying Youth Voices through Constructive Dialogue for Sustainable Development."
Opening the Dialogue
The conference commenced with opening remarks from Ms. Phoebe Mungai, Country Director for The Oslo Center Kenya and Somalia, alongside Finn-Jarle Rode, Executive Chairman of The Oslo Center. Ayub Abdikadir, a renowned journalist from Royal Media Services (Citizen TV), moderated the session.
Following the opening, esteemed guests delivered impactful addresses. Governor of Lamu County and Party Leader of Amani National Congress (ANC), H.E. Issa Timamy, shared his perspective. Hon. Johnson Sakaja, Governor of Nairobi City County, and Dr. Asha Mohammed, Permanent Representative of the IFRC to the African Union in Ethiopia, also delivered powerful messages. The official opening ceremony concluded with a speech by H.E. Hon. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Former Vice-President of Kenya and Party Leader of Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM).
Youth Voices Take Center Stage
The conference delved deeper with two captivating panel discussions. The first panel, "The Youth Voice as an Alternative Approach to Constructive Dialogue," featured prominent figures including:

The second panel, "Breaking Barriers: Leaders Championing Inclusivity for Sustainable Progress," saw insightful contributions from:
