"AAIPS 2025" Confirms RAMPI as Strategic Partner to Advance Africa’s IP Governance and Enforcement ⚖️

The All Africa Intellectual Property Summit (AAIPS) proudly announces a strategic partnership with the Réseau Africain de la Propriété Intellectuelle des Magistrats (RAMPI) – the African Network of Intellectual Property Magistrates – for its highly anticipated 6th Edition, taking place November 12–14, 2025 in Dakar, Senegal.

This year's summit marks a landmark occasion as it is hosted in a member country of the Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OAPI), amplifying the region’s role in shaping Africa’s IP future. RAMPI, a fast-rising judicial voice within the OAPI region, has built a powerful reputation for its dedication to strengthening IP rights enforcement and capacitating Africa’s judiciary to protect the rights of creators and innovators.

Earlier in May, the AfCFTA Secretariat also confirmed its strategic alignment with AAIPS 2025—setting the stage for a continental turning point in harmonizing IP laws to enable smoother trade, investment, and innovation across Africa.

 

Why RAMPI? Why Now?

RAMPI is a judiciary-led initiative committed to enhancing regional collaboration among judges and strengthening IP systems through improved understanding and enforcement of IP law. This partnership reinforces a mutual vision with AAIPS: building a coherent, inclusive, and resilient continental IP framework.

Back in March 2025, RAMPI signed a groundbreaking agreement with OAPI, outlining deeper judicial cooperation, unified legal interpretations, and enhanced training frameworks for IP judges across member states—solidifying RAMPI’s role as a continental pillar of legal IP enforcement.

“We believe that a sustainable IP system should be anchored on legal expertise and judicial competence in IP laws,” said Sand Mba-Kalu, Chairman of the AAIPS 2025 Organizing Committee. “RAMPI embodies both, and we are honoured to welcome them as a strategic partner.”

Under the 2025 theme, “Building an Inclusive IP Ecosystem for Africa’s Future,” RAMPI will bring a critical legal lens to the Summit’s high-level deliberations.
