Nairobi, 20th August 2026: Kenya Investment Authority (Invest Kenya) and the East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) have officially entered into an agreement that is designed to drive private capital into Kenya and accelerate national economic growth through mobilizing capital, and to enhance market competitiveness.

The partnership links Kenyas state investment promotion agency and the leading industry association that represents private capital investors in the east Africa region. Together, the institutions aim to position Kenya as the chief hub for private capital deployment across East Africa by mobilizing both domestic and international financing and enhancing Kenyas global investment competitiveness.

The agreement focuses on core pillars: Jointly promoting Kenya as preferred destination for private capital through investment missions ,roadshows, and targeted deal pipeline development to connect investors with high potential investible businesses ,develop joint research ,investment insights and market intelligence to inform investors while promoting evidence based decision making and advancing market intelligence alongside capacity-building workshops to enhance investor readiness and local institutional capabilities.

The Kenya Investment Authority Chief Executive Officer, John Mwendwa during the signing of the memorandum said, Private capital is shaping the future of economic growth, and Kenya continues to strengthen its position as one of Africas leading investment destinations, Our renewed partnership will focus on mobilizing private capital into priority sectors, advancing investment policy reforms, strengthening market intelligence, and deepening public-private collaboration, He further said that private capital goes beyond financing businesses, noting that it can support innovation ,enterprise growth, industrialization and job creation

Speaking on behalf of EACVA, Chief Executive Officer Christine Maina said,

Kenya does not suffer from a lack of investor interest. The bigger task is to ensure that interest finds a clear path to opportunity and ultimately to deployment. This partnership gives us an important bridge between the investors allocating capital and the public institutions shaping the environment in which that capital operates. For EAVCA, success will be measured not simply by how well we promote Kenya, but by how effectively we turn that engagement into investment, stronger businesses and long-term economic value.”

Through having a uniting policy leadership, Invest Kenya and EAVCA are unlocking a precedent-setting growth potential for Kenyas investment landscape, thus laying the groundwork for a more competitive, capital-rich future for Kenya.
