This initiative, a collaboration between the Government of Kenya(hashtag#GOK), the United Nations Development Programme (hashtag#UNDP), and hashtag#Microsoft, aims to bridge skill gaps across the continent and enhance public sector innovation.

The Centre is designed to equip civil servants across Africa with cutting-edge digital and AI competencies, aligned with Kenya’s National Digital Master Plan 2022-2032.
Utilizing a hub-and-spokes model inspired by Bangladesh's hashtag#a2i program, Kenya will act as a knowledge hub, spreading expertise to other African nations.
The Centre will focus on systems thinking, strategic foresight, and human-centered problem-solving, preparing governments for the challenges of a digital future.
A standout feature is the Public Sector Innovation Fund, which provides grants to public servants to apply their training to real-world challenges, fostering a culture of innovation within governments.

Global tech leaders like Microsoft and hashtag#Google are actively involved, offering expertise to ensure the Centre remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
The initiative aligns with UNDP's Sustainable Development Goals (hashtag#SDGs), promoting quality education, decent work, and reducing inequalities.

Ms. Vera Obonyo, Deputy Director at KSG e-Learning and Development Institute, emphasized the Centre’s role in empowering civil servants with the necessary skills to adapt to an ever-evolving digital landscape.
Ms. Madelena Monoja, Deputy Resident Representative for UNDP Kenya, highlighted the transformative potential of digital skills in improving governance and service delivery, drawing from her extensive experience in post-conflict regions.
David Ombee, UNDP Kenya’s Project Communications Officer, described the Centre as a "beacon of innovation" for the public sector.
The Session was Moderated by Mercy Kimalat who offered insights into the Centre's potential to address Africa’s digital divide and revolutionize public services.
