The National carrier reaffirms role in advancing Kenya’s tourism, trade, and MICE growth 

Kenya Airways (KQ) is proud to serve as the official airline partner for the Magical Kenya Tourism Expo (MKTE) 2025, under the theme “Strengthening Global Connectivity Through Strategic Partnerships.” This year’s collaboration reinforces KQ’s role as a strategic enabler of tourism, trade, and investment opportunities across Africa.  

In alignment with the Magical Kenya initiative in partnership with the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), Kenya Airways continues to showcase Kenya and East Africa as top travel destinations.

A key driver of this strategy is the airline’s strategic partnership with SafariLink, which provides travellers with direct access to 9 Safari destinations. By offering seamless international-to-domestic connections, the partnership makes travel easier and more attractive, boosting arrivals and tourism spend across the country.

The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector is emerging as one of Africa’s most dynamic growth areas. Kenya Airways is actively tapping into this market through strategic collaborations, including its partnership with the Kenya International Convention Centre (KICC). This partnership positions Nairobi as a regional MICE hub, leveraging air transport as a foundation for driving business travel into Africa.

With 43 destinations across its network, 34 of them within Africa, Kenya Airways enables the seamless movement of delegates, exhibitors, and investors into Africa’s major urban centers. Every MICE traveller contributes to local economies through hotels, restaurants, and transport services, while supporting job creation, infrastructure development, and urban growth.

This year also marks the first anniversary of Kenya Airways’ Government Booking Office at KICC, a milestone that underscores the airline’s commitment to supporting Kenya’s MICE ambitions.

Kenya Airways is also advancing sustainable travel initiatives and embedding responsible aviation practices across its operations. By combining connectivity, strategic partnerships, and environmental responsibility, the airline continues to drive the growth of Kenya’s tourism and trade sectors while ensuring long-term sustainability.
