Unaitas SACCO, in partnership with Critical Mass Nairobi, today (Tue,26th Nov 2025) hosted a highly successful edition of the Toto Mass Kids’ Day Out, drawing hundreds of children, parents and cycling enthusiasts to the Children’s Traffic Park on Nyerere Road. This event provided a vibrant family friendly environment, emphasizing child safety, wellness, active mobility, and financial literacy.
From as early as 8:00am, families streamed into the park, creating a colourful scene of bicycles, helmets, whistles, and excited young riders. The main ride began at exactly 9:00am, led by Critical Mass marshals and strongly supported by the Nairobi Traffic Police, whose presence ensured a safe, orderly, and educative experience for all participants. Officers participated in demonstrations on road signs, lane discipline, wearing protective gear, and the meaning of children’s traffic rules.
In addition to cycling activities, Unaitas SACCO hosted an interactive Family Engagement Zone, where children learned about the basics of money, saving, and responsibility through games and short educational sessions. Parents were guided on how to start and grow a savings culture for their children, with Unaitas showcasing its Jasiri Account a flagship savings product designed to help young people begin their financial journey early.
Strong Community Support
The event enjoyed overwhelming support from;
- Families from across Nairobi and its suburbs
- Traffic Police and County security teams
- Youth cycling advocates
- Early childhood educators
- Community wellness organizations
Parents praised the initiative for providing a safe and structured environment for their children to cycle something not readily available in many Nairobi neighbourhoods.
