Major Milestone for Kenya’s Fluorspar Industry!

At the Kenya Chamber of Mines Annual Gala Dinner & Awards 2025, Sofax Fluorspar Kenya Ltd & Chinese EPC firm MIZZTECH officially finalized an agreement to restart operations at the historic Kenya Fluorspar Plant in Kerio Valley.

This follows an #MoU signed in August 2025, and with all terms now confirmed, Mizztech’s technical team is already on-site to begin plant repair and full refurbishment.

The project targets key operational milestones within three months, marking a strong comeback for Kenya’s fluorspar sector.

What this means for #Kenya:

✔ Revival of one of the country’s major mineral operations

✔ More employment opportunities for local communities

✔ Increased value addition and industrial activity

✔ Stronger positioning of Kenya in the global fluorspar market

This partnership signals renewed confidence in Kenya’s mining industry and the power of collaboration in driving sector-wide transformation.
